Robert Mangurian, Keith Godard, Craig Hodgetts, and Lester Walker collaborated to form Studio Works in New York, NY, in 1969. Hodgetts, Godard and Walker gradually left the firm, but Mangurian maintained it. Mangurian came to teach at UCLA by about 1978, and relocated Studio Works here at that time. For at least some time in 1978, the firm called itself, "Works West." Mary Ann Ray became an employee of Studio Works in 1985 and a partner in 1987. It has been based in Los Angeles, CA.
The name was also written "Studioworks."
