The Sollitt Family had been active in the construction industry in Chicago, IL, since 1838. The Sumner Sollitt Company was carried on by Sumner Sollitt's (1873-1930) two sons, Sumner Shannon Sollitt and Sumner Marshall Sollitt. The company went bankrupt in the 1960s. It became the "Sumner Sollitt Corporation" later in its existence.
