This Omaha, NE-based engineering firm acquired Durham, Anderson and Freed by 1970; in that year, Henningson, Durham and Richardson, Incorporated, operated offices in Omaha, NB, Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, and Washington, DC; an affiliated branch also operated in Charlotte, NC. HDR, based in Omaha, NE, expanded its operations in the Puget Sound Region after 1973, when it was awarded the contract to provide the master plan, preliminary engineering, and environmental impact reports for the US Navy TRIDENT submarine base outside Seattle, WA; in 1981, the firm designed the Seattle Public Library, Rainier Beach Branch #3; in 2005, the firm stated that it had 3600 employees in 100 offices worldwide;
