The internationally-known German-born architect, Erich (later shortened to "Eric,") Mendelsohn (1887-1953), joined briefly with Bay Area practitioners John Ekin Dinwiddie (1902-1959) and Albert Henry Hill (1913-1984) to open an office in San Francisco in 1945-1947. In 06/1946, the firm had an office at 233 Sansome Street in San Francisco.
