This general store functioned from c. 1857-1864; this store went bankrupt after Meier returned to Ellerstadt, Bavaria, to tend to his family and to get married.

Bavarian immigrant, Aaron Meier, and his partner, a man named Mariholtz, opened a 35 x 50-foot general store at 137 Front Street in Portland in 1857. It sold goods brought via ship from San Francisco or by covered wagon via the Oregon Trail.

Demolished.
