Building History

The Pasadena Public Library said of this branch on its web site in 2017: "La Pintoresca ('the picturesque') Branch Library, built in 1930, was named for the hotel which had previously occupied its northwest Pasadena site. Its parkland location centers La Pintoresca in the most highly populated service area of any Pasadena Branch. La Pintoresca Branch Library serves also as a community center, providing local residents with a welcoming, informal meeting place." (See Pasadena Public Library, "La Pintoresca Branch," accessed 06/20/2017.) In 2017, the branch owned about 56,000 volumes, and contained a meeting space that could hold 53 people.
