Expansion on this branch of SDPL occurred in 03/2004, enlarging the facility from 10,000 square feet to 24,000 square feet; the cost was $4.7 million. Melhorn Construction served as the General Contractor for the addition of the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Library Annex and the Garth Reading Level. The original portion of the library was known from 2004 onward as the Florence Riford Library Center.
