Racing began on this dirt, former horse-racing track in 1954; driver Jimmie Collier was instrumental in lobbying Snohomish County to allow auto racing here. A 5/8ths of a mile, figure-eight track was paved for the first time in early 1960s; wooden bleachers were replaced by a more permanent grandstand in 1967. A 3/8ths of a mile track was added in 1973. In the late 1970s-1980s, an upgraded lighting system was installed as were additional seats, cement barriers and track signage. In 2007, this racetrack hosted a race in the Grand National Division, West Series, a sort of minor league racing group affiliated with NASCAR.
