This beer hall stood on the site formerly occupied by Fort Moore, a garrison that stood over Los Angeles, just after the arrival of Anglos in California, c. 1848. Its buildings later became incorporated into a home for Mary Banning, wife of Anglo pioneer, Phineas Banning.
