Built at the foot of what was called in early Los Angeles, "Poundcake Hill."

This very simple, one-room Gothic Revival church stood until c. 1883, when a new courthouse was built. This, in turn, was also demolished for the construction in 1926-1928 of the current Los Angeles City Hall occupied the site.

This church was one of the first buildings in early Anglo Los Angeles, CA, to have been constructed of fired clay brick rather than adobe.

Demolished c. 1883.
