Building History

The original Sutter Hospital opened in the early 1920s on the site of a former adobe house near Sutter's Fort in Sacramento, CA.

The San Francisco firm of Stone, Mulloy, Marraccini, and Patterson, who served as consulting architects on the 1955 Sutter Hospital, developed a specialty in hospital design during the early-to-mid-1950s.
