Microsoft purchased a 28-acre parcel of land 07/03/2007 at the corner of NE 51st Street and 148th Avenue NE from neighboring Nintendo Corporation for potential use as for future buildings in its RedWest Campus.
In 2023, a $5 billion plan to expand and redevelop the campus were meeting delays. In addition, in late 03/2023, Microsoft announced plans to halt the construction of four buildings on the RedWest Campus that would have added 1.1 million square feet.
