The Seattle architectural firm of Saunders and Lawton designed this dairy barn for the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE). The barn had shiplap siding, a jerkinhead gable roof and a rooftop cupola. The University of Washington used the barn past 1950 for utilitarian purposes.

Building History

Architect George W. Lawton (1864-1928) signed the drawings for the AYPE Dairy Barn, suggesting that he was the partner in charge.

This building had additions made 1936 and 1948.

The University of Washington reused the AYPE Dairy Barn for multiple decades after the fair before razing it.
