This is the highly visible fishstand where employees throw fish to colleagues. John Yokoyama, following in a long-line of Japanese-Americans to open produce stands at Pike Place Market, purchased the Pike Place Fish Company in 1965; after his purchase, he added the words "World Famous" to the name. Fish-throwing helped the stand to achieve wide--if not world--notice.
