Richfield Oil Company of CA operated the refinery from 1938-1966; the company became the Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) which operated the plant from 1966-2000; ARCO was purchased by BP West Coast Products in 2000, and the Carson facility has been operated by them to the present.
