According to movie palace historian David Naylor, the Belasco Theatre #2 housed the Metropolitan Church, a gay religious group, c. 1980.

Spanish Baroque in style; like many theatres of its time, the building was designed to accommodate live performances and movies. Initially, the Belasco seated 1,061 patrons.
