Dates: constructed 2005-2008
The small number of condominiums in this building started at prices of $1 million and over. The project billed itself in 2007 as an "environmentally sensitive place to live." It was to have been located on a former parking lot to the west of the former Bon Marche (later Macy's) Parking Garage. The Starwood Properties chain was involved in the building of 1 Hotel.
Unbuilt. The project was being planned c. 2005-2008, at a time when a large number of similar luxury hotel/condominium projects were planned and completed in Downtown Seattle, WA. This over-building led to a surfeit of hotel rooms and high-priced condos. The 1 Hotel's fate was sealed by the sub-prime mortgage bubble that burst in 2008. As of 2010, the project was dead.
