The trailhead for this 8.8 mile pathway cost $650,000 to construct. The cross-mountain trail totaled $300,000 in costs, while the ledge trail came in at $100,000. It was planned and built over nearly four years by the Mountains-to-Sound Greenway Trust, the Washington Trails Association, EarthCorps, Seattle Public Utilities, and the Cedar River Watershed Staff. Financing came from the City of Seattle and the State of Washington, and Mountains-to-Sound Greenway Trust. (The Trust was formed in the early 1990s with the goal of preserving wildlife along U.S. Interstate 90.)
