Building History

According to South Bay Daily Breeze.com reporter, Sam Gnerre, the El Ja Arms Hotel, "...was the second hotel to be built in Redondo Beach," opened on 07/04/1915. The first was the grand Hotel Redondo that began operations in 1890. According to Gnerre, the El Ja Arms cost $50,000 to complete and was erected by building contractor, Louis J. Baumbeck.
