This was the house and studio of the painter, Jean Mannheim (1861-1945), a German artist who settled in Pasadena, CA, in 1908. He is credited with being one of the first houses built on the famous Arroyo Seco in Pasadena, an area filled at the time with wealth, artists, intellectuals, and fine architecture. Mannheim and his wife were responsible for the design of this residence/studio.
