This house was designed for the noted archaeologist, Adam Clark Vroman (b. La Salle, IL 1856-1916), who built one of the finest collections of Native American artifacts in Southern California. Vroman also distinguished himself as a photographer, taking photogrpahs of Native Americans encountered between 1895-1904. For a living, Vroman worked for the railroad.
