Public presentations by the 4 finalist firms--Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Michael Maltzan Architecture, Weiss Manfredi Architects and Caruso St. John Architects--occurred on 05/08/2000--This 9-acre sculpture park opened 01/2007. The winning design by Weiss / Manfredi Architects included an exhibition pavilion provides space for art and performances of all kinds. A path descends from the pavilion to "three new archetypal landscapes of the northwest: a dense temperate evergreen forest, a deciduous forest and a shoreline garden."
