Building Notes

In 2009, 27 of Tacoma's public schools dated from before 1960. Of these, the Tacoma Landmarks Preservation Commission identified more than 1 dozen schools eligible for the Tacoma Register of Historic Places. Stadium High School was placed on the Tacoma Register before 2006, while Lincoln High School was placed on it in 2006. Washington Elementary was listed in 2006, as well.

Alteration

Renovation by Peggy Miller Architects of Seattle, WA, occurred c. 1985-1986. Another renovation completed in the fall of 2006, cost $106 million, the costliest rebuilding effort ever completed in the State of Washington up to that time.
