Opening in 09/2003, the Everett Events Center cost $71.3 million and had a capacity of 9,000-10,000 for live shows and 8,513 for Everett Silvertips minor league hockey games. The City of Everett Public Facilities District commissioned its construction, along with the adjoining Edward D. Hansen Conference Center and Comcast Community Ice Rink. The Facilities District sold the Everett Events Center's naming rights to Comcast Corporation, the Philadelphia, PA-based cable utility, and it was re-christened "Comcast Arena" in 09/2007.
