This was one of Willatsen and Byrne's best-known works in Seattle, WA, designed for the wealthy lumberman, A.S. Kerry, Sr., (1866-1939), in the exclusive Highlands sub-division. Willatsen originally created a much larger design, but cost-overruns limited the actual construction to half its proposed length.
A presentation drawing by Willatsen of the Kerry House is stored at the University of Washington, Seattle, Libraries, Department of Special Collections, Allen Library. Kerry was the President of the Seattle Golf Club in 1912 and an active booster of the sport.
