Father Donald Conger began the planning of this second Holy Family Parish Catholic Church in Kirkland, WA, in 1955. The Diocese purchased a ten-acre plot on 120 Avenue NE to the north of NE 70th Street in 12/1955; construction on a church, school, rectory, and Domincan Sisters' convent commenced 12/15/1956. The convent opened in 08/1947, the school in 09/1957, the rectory on 12/24/1957, and the church housed its first Mass at midnight on 12/25/1957. Dedication ceremonies for the whole ensemble of buildings occurred on the Feast of the Holy Family, 01/12/1958.

This church burned in a fire set by an arsonist, 07/09/1988.
