Building History

This wooden Gothic Revival church was the first Catholic house of worship in Seattle, WA. When the Catholic Diocese of Nisqually was transferred from Vancouver, WA, to Seattle, WA, in 1903, this church served as the pro-cathedral. This was before Bishop O'Dea's Saint James Cathedral was constructed in 1907.

Alteration

Reverend Prefontaine commissioned Seattle architect Donald MacKay to enlarge Our Lady of Hope in 1882 to serve 300 parishioners.

Demolition

Our Lady of Good Hope Church was razed in 1904.
