The site for this library cost $70,000 in 1961. The bond issue of 1956 created a pool of $5 million with which to build the Main Branch #2; once this was built, $500,000 remained, and it is this money that paid for the Southwest, Ballard #2, and Magnolia #3 Branches. The second SPL branch in Ballard opened in the summer of 1963.
Demolished; this library was torn down in late 08/2013.
