The Union Electric Railway Depot in Sacramento was used by the local lines until about 1940, when most electric rail service was phased out in the city; the terminal housed the offices of the Sacramento Northern Electric Railway for some time after 1940; According to the California Railroad Museum website, the Union Electric Railway Depot,'...served a variety of retail and commercial uses into the 1970s. Demolished circa 1980, the former terminal’s site is today occupied by a motor hotel and restaurant, and a parking lot.
