This was replaced by the even larger third church in 1793-94. Also built of adobe, with a tile roof, and measuring 125 by 26 feet, the third church was destroyed by the great earthquake of 1812. The third Mission Santa Barbara Church exceeded the second in size, having floor measurements of 125 x 26 feet.

Demolished; This iteration of the Mission Santa Barbara was destroyed by an 6.9-magnitude earthquake in 1812. It took eight years to build the fourth and final mission church.
