Overview

George Washington Percy's obituary in the San Francisco Call indicated that the architect had designed a number of buildings in Golden Gate Park, presumably during his partnership with Frederick F. Hamilton. The obituary noted: "He was the architect of the coliseum on Strawberry Hill, in Golden Gate Park, of the children's building and of several other structures in the park." (See "Death of G.W. Percy, Well-Known Architect," San Francisco Call, vol. 87, no. 15, 12/15/1900, p. 11.)
