A "Chinese Theatre" is shown on an 1895 Sanborn Fire Insurance map, located one building north of a levee frontage road and C Street intersection (northwest side). This theatre was reported vacant in the 1909 Sanborn map, and the building had burned by 1921, with only some of the walls still standing. At one time, several blocks south of First Street composed Marysville's Chinatown area. This area abutted an unpaved frontage road paralleling the town's levee.
