Owner, Edward Yost, (who owned the Yost theatres in Santa Ana, CA, later)commissioned the construction of the 500-seat Colonial Theatre, one of the earliest theatres in Orange County, CA, later called the Plaza. (It became the Plaza in 1947, after having closed as the Colonial in the 1930s.) It lasted only a few more years, closing in 1952, at the advent of television.

Demolished c. 1952 to make room for a parking lot. This theatre lay in the back of a lot also occupied by the Friedmann Building, currently standing.
