Mildred Stein (04/26/1903-05/20/1989) knew the architect, John B. Anthony, in high school. She believed that he had studied in France, and he had traveled for two years in Europe through France, UK, Spain, Italy, and Belgium. The owners requested a French style dwelling from Anthony.
