The Rose Walk, set on a steep hillside, was park developed in 1913, and became a popular tourist stop, pictured on many post cards.

The Rose Walk's status as a Berkeley Landmark was changed 02/25/1991, and enlarged to include several Henry H. Gutterson cottages (1923-1936). It was resubmitted to the Berkeley register as City Landmark #165.
