The Coalinga-Huron Library District was created in 1912 in preparation to receiving funds from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, NY. This Fresno County charter provided for a main library in Coalinga, CA, and branch in Huron, CA. The Carnegie Corporation granted $20,000 for the main branch in 1913, requiring local authorities to come up with the land and additional money for collections and upkeep. The Coalinga Library was finished in 09/1914.
