Einar Johnson established this Scandinavian food store in 1960, to serve the still-large numbers of Swedish and Norwegians living in Ballard. A Johnson's employee, Reidar Olsen purchased the store from Johnson; it was still known as Johnsen's c. 1970, but its name was probably changed soon thereafter. Reidar Olsen's son took on management of the store, renamed it Olsen's Scandinavian Foods, and later sold it to current owners, Anita and Reidun Endresen in 1997. This Ballard neighborhood hang-out closed in 2009.
