Ward Higgins served as Partner-in-Charge of the Terrace East and Terrace West Apartments, Berkeley. John Catanesi served as the Plastering Contractor on this project. The apartments were disstinguished by their terraces inclosed by wrought iron railings with delicate, thin proportions.

Lee maximized the use of the small, L-shaped lot that sloped from east to west. The two apartment units contained 43,520 square feet and cost $497,500 including landscaping, swimming pool, carpeting and drapes. This yielded a cost per square foot of $11.00 and cost per rental square foot of $15.66. The swimming pool was placed between the east and west buildings, and parking was located below the complex. The Terrace East and Terrace West Apartments, Berkeley, CA, won a Award of Merit from the American Institute of Architects, 1965. The jury selecting the awards in 1965 consisted of architects: Willis N. Mills, Chair, Stamford, CT; Philip Johnson, New York, NY; Donald Lutes, Springfield, OR; Nathaniel Owings, San Francisco, CA; Peter Tarapata, Bloomfield Hills, MI;
