Southcenter added 400,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and theatre space in 2006. Two parking garages--one holding 602 cars, the other 400--were built to serve additional customers. The 600-car garage opened 11/24/2006, the day after Thanksgiving, usually the busiest shopping day of the year. Westfield Southcenter opened a new 75-store wing in 2008; the wing also included 5 new restaurants and a 16-screen AMC multiplex theatre.
