The Leibig Guest House and Farmer's Cottage won an Honor Award from the Southern California Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in January 1947. The Awards Committee consisted of George B. Allison, Chair, Pierpont Davis, John Rex, and Byron Tharaldson; this committee invited John W. Root, FAIA, of Burnham and Root, Architects, Chicago, IL, Pietro Belluschi, Architect, Portland, OR, and Ernest Born, Architect, San Francisco, CA, to act as judges for the awards program that was halted between the years 1938-1946.
