Overview
Edward Durrell Stone and Associates developed plans for Harvey Mudd College in 1956. As noted by the Stone Archives at the University of Arkansas Libraries, Harvey Mudd College occupied 36 acres, and formed a rectangle, bounded by Claremont Boulevard to the east, 12th Street to the south, Dartmouth Avenue to the west, and Foothill Boulevard (Route 66) to the north. Building History
Architects Edward Durrell Stone and Associates had the primary responsibility for the design for the Harvey Mudd College Plan dated from 06/1956. Heitschmidt and Thompson, Los Angeles, CA, served as associated architects. Construction began in 10/1956, designed in Stone's Palo Alto office during the summer of 1956.
