Cisco Systems, the computer hardware company based in San Jose, CA, paid the Oakland Athletics for the naming rights to their new baseball stadium. This field would seat in the range of 35,000 fans, much smaller than the capacity of the previous home field of the Athletics, the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum, that seated 48,219. The $500 million facility would begin operations in 2011.
