The Seattle Academy, a private secondary school founded in 1983, purchased the terra-cotta clad, two-story Vanderbilt Building in 1998, and transformed it into one of its facilities. English, History, and Science Departments were located on the second floor and a student commons occupied the first c. 2011. At this time, five separate buildings comprised the Seattle Academy Campus.
