Richard Covington, a representative of the Hudson's Bay Company, and his wife, Anne Charlotte, built this small house. The building was moved in 1926.
According to the sign erected outside of Covington House, this log cabin was "Erected 1848 by Richard and Anne Charlotte Covington on Fourth Plain. Boarding school was conducted herein in 1850. This building housed first piano in the Oregon Country and was center of social activity in entire region." In WA, this was a rare, surviving example of log construction.
