Calais II was located due south of Calais I. Both occupied a tract bounded by West 32nd Avenue on the north, C Street on the west, A Street on the east, and West 34th Avenue on the south.

Overview

The Calais I and II Office Center was completed in two phases, the first in 1974, the second in 1977. Calais I stood at 3201 C Street in Anchorage, AK, while Calais II stood at 3301 C Street in Anchorage.

Building History

The Calais Office Buildings I and II are eight- and five-stories respectively, each concrete-framed with bronze insulating glass curtainwalls.

The website of J.L. Properties said of the Calais I and II buildings: "These two office buildings, totaling 200,000 square feet, were part of the original development of midtown Anchorage as an office market. They house the state’s largest financial services firm, the Petroleum Club, oilfield service companies, Native corporations and an innovative non-profit center with shared conference and service facilities." The owner of Calais II in 2022 was listed on the deed as "Calais Office Center II, LLC," formed in 2002.

Calais I and II were categorized as Class B office spaces in 2022.

Building Notes

Calais I stood on a 3.74-acre parcel and contained 122,272 square feet. Calais II occupied a 3.34-acre site and contained 84.556 square feet.
