The Shoreline School District #412 commissioned the Seattle architectural firm of Jones and Bindon to design the Cromwell Park Elementary School in 1955. The district used this facility for only 16 years, closing it in 1971. It was one of four elementary schools the Shoreline District erected in 1953-1955, the others being Briarcrest, Hillwood, and Paramount Park Elementary Schools.
