This structure in its two locations was used as the main branch of the Oakland Public Library until 1902.
This square, two-story Italianate structure was moved to a site on the grounds of the City Hall in 1878. This was located at 14th Street and Washington Street. Once relocated, it was raised, giving the building an added story.
Demolished to make way for the Oakland City Hall c. 1902.
