The Silverstone House won an Award of Merit from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 1951. The house resembled a Usonian-era house by Frank Lloyd Wright in various ways. The living room, in particular, had low rubble walls, a prominent hearth, built-in furniture, and clerestory seen in Wright's work of the 1930s-1940s.
