Located on what was property of the Point Loma Community, a Theosophist undertaking in San Diego, CA.

Theosophist leader, Katherine Tingley, began a "School for the Revival of the Lost Mysteries of Antiquity," at Point Loma, San Diego, CA, in February 1897. This was to become the center for the Theosophist movement in the U.S., a religion seeking to amalgamate ideas from ancient and modern philosophical and theological traditions, particularly those of the ancient Indians and Greeks. She erected this first open-air Greek theatre in the United States at her Point Loma Community in 1901.
