Built c. 1900, the Canfield House had a large, cross-gabled, two-story design. It served first as the Incarnations church's first sanctuary, then, the rectory and, finally, the convent of the Glendale Incarantion Church.

In 1951, the Canfield House was moved to a new site not far from its original Glenoaks Boulevard and Brand Boulevard location.
